Luganville

It's a windy stretch of water and clearly the pilot boat didn't survive the last cyclone.
Monday 21st August 2017
Luganville is our final stop in Vanuatu at the northern island or Espiritu Santo, where we anchored in 3-4m off the Beach Front resort in a brisk wind.  We were given a lift into town by Dave, the owner of the resort and he dropped us off at Customs.   Here we found some charming ladies at Customs and Immigration were charged Harbour Dues of 7875 vatu (£54).  Eventually completed all formalities after breaking for lunch at the Aori Art Cafe. It is a very nice spot run by a charming French traveller couple with a mignon daughter aged about 12 sporting a white beret at a rakish angle.

Then we wandered through town trying to find somewhere that would refill our gas bottles, but without success, and did some last minute vegetable shopping.  It's a windy stretch of water and clearly the pilot boat didn't survive the last cyclone.

Next stop could be Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea before tackling the Torres Strait towards Darwin.

I have updated the calendar so that you can see the current schedule.
