Having anchored in Craig's Cove we organised a trip to a remote village to witness traditional dances and magic.

Anchored in Craig's Cove, Ambrym |
These old men made a powerful dance on the sacred village dance floor, shielded from womens eyes by high hedges. The tall carved wooden tam-tam statues witnessed the age old ceremony in a row. Their bellies have a vertical slit through which they have been hollowed out to create a resonant drum, used to call people to the ceremony.
