Wonderful Cape Town

Our stop over in Cape Town was lovely!

Anne and I flew back with Alice, Matt and baby Felix after a busy family Christmas and had a most enjoyable two weeks together exploring all the well known sights; Table Mountain, Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, the colourful Bo Kaap district, the V&A Waterfront, Zeitz MOCAA Museum, Simonstown, the Stellenbosch and Franshoek winelands plus a trip to Aquila Game Reserve in the Karoo.

Anne and I, however, got mugged at knifepoint in Strand Street on New Year's Eve, but a young man, Sibusiso Mvalo, bravely came to our rescue and drove the two attackers off with a bit of plastic piping.  More of that later.

However Anne and I then enjoyed a couple of weeks on our own visiting old and new friends in Durban, the Drakensberg and the Kruger, which was truly wonderful.

I feel very bereft now that Anne has flown home......Mark and Justin are great companions, but as we prepare to set sail again I miss Anne dreadfully.

Madagascar cyclone

Just as well Tin Tin left the Indian Ocean in time. I hope other yachts with delayed crossings were all right.
